What great concerts last week! To say I am happy with how the students performed would be an understatement. Each and every student put forth their best effort and the result was fantastic performances from each performing ensemble. As the director of bands I am very excited to see these students grow over the next many years.
I wanted to take a minute to ask you to help your child practice over the Christmas break that is fast approaching. I know it is a busy time of year; I know there will be many good reasons not to practice (and some not so good like Dax in that comic), but please encourage your child to play at least a few times over the break. If nothing else they could find all of the holiday tunes in their book and play through those to help get in the spirit.
Also, if you are looking for some gift ideas for your musician consider some of these (many of which are small enough to make a good stocking stuffer):
I wish you all a Merry Christmas!
